A Lakewood Ranch man is over $7 million richer after scoring the top prize on a Florida Lottery scratch-off game.

Manatee County resident Ramon Cabo, 68, got his lucky break playing the “$10,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE” scratch-off game, the Florida Lottery said in a news release. He purchased his ticket at the Walmart at 6225 E. State Road 64 in Bradenton.

Florida Lottery officials say Cabo claimed his winnings in July, choosing to receive them as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $7,752,000.

The “$10,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE” game costs $20 per play and includes over $225 million in cash prizes. Overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.96, and odds of a top prize win are 1-in-3,848,168.

Three of four top prizes now remain, according to the Florida Lottery’s website.

Cabo joins other lucky locals who have won big on Florida Lottery scratch-offs this year, including an Ellenton woman who won a $5 million top prize and a Bradenton man who won $1 million.
