Manatee County man wins top Florida Lottery prize worth $1 million

A Manatee County man recently scored the top prize on a Florida Lottery scratch-off game, the agency said in a news release.

Ramon Torres, 69, of Bradenton, got lucky on the “Double Your Money” scratch-off game. The game costs $5 per play and offers four top prizes of $1 million.

Torres bought his winning ticket at Cottage Mini Mart, 6123 26th St. W., Bradenton, the Florida Lottery said.

His odds of winning the top prize were 1-in-3819210, according to the agency. Two of four top prizes now remain.

Torres chose to collect his winnings as a one-time payment of $605,016.

The Florida Lottery also awarded Cottage Mini Mart a $2,000 commission for selling the ticket.

Torres’ lottery luck follows another Bradenton man who won $1 million on a scratch-off in recent weeks.
