Manatee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 19-year-old accused of fatally running over another teen with a car following an argument.

A 19-year-old is charged with murder after he allegedly ran over a 17-year-old with a car in Bradenton on Saturday, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Just after 5 p.m., deputies were called to a Bradenton neighborhood in the 4600 block of Fourth Avenue Drive East for a report that a teen had been run over following an argument.

At the scene, deputies found the 17-year-old male, who was pronounced dead. The sheriff’s office is withholding his name, citing Florida’s Marsy’s Law for victims of crimes.

Deputies identified the 19-year-old driver as Josh Oviedo.

Oviedo fled the area and was later arrested behind a shopping plaza, the sheriff’s office said. He was booked into the Manatee County Jail on Saturday, where he is held without bail.
