Upscale restaurant Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar planned for Bradenton area

It looks like a Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar is coming to Manatee County.

The new restaurant would be constructed from the ground up at 8396 Tourist Center Drive, where a closed Ruby Tuesday’s now sits, according to paperwork filed with Manatee County Building Services.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar would be a new entrant in the Bradenton-area dining scene. The closest Fleming’s Prime Steakhouses to Bradenton are at 2001 Siesta Drive, Sarasota, and at 4322 W. Boy Scout Blvd., Tampa.

A Bloomin’ Brands restaurant, Fleming’s stablemates include Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill and Bonefish Grill.

Fleming’s is a contemporary interpretation of the classic American steakhouse – boasting culinary mastery, signature style and unrivaled attentive service, according to the company.

“Memorable dining experiences are at the very forefront of Fleming’s, striving to provide five-star service and culinary innovation to guests in a warm and welcoming setting,” the company says.

Fleming’s offers a selection of dry-aged and wet-aged specialty and classic cuts, including the 8-ounce petite filet mignon and 35-ounce prime tomahawk. Every USDA Prime steak cut offered on the dinner menu is aged for 21 days for depth of flavor and texture.

In 1998, restaurateurs Paul Fleming and Bill Allen opened the first Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in Newport Beach, California.

There are now about 70 Fleming’s restaurants nationwide. The average cost of dinner is approximately $80 per person, including food, beverage, tax and gratuity.

Ruby Tuesday’s filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in October 2020 and closed the Tourist Center Drive store in early 2021.
