Bradenton woman hits $2M top prize on Florida Lottery scratch-off game
A lucky Bradenton woman is ending 2022 on a high note after she scored a top prize worth $2 million on a Florida Lottery scratch-off game.
Eureca Battle, 40, bought the winning “$2,000,000 Bonus Cashword” ticket at the Speedway located at 11002 State Road 64 in Bradenton, the Florida Lottery said in a news release Tuesday.
The crossword-themed game launched in May and costs $10 a play. The Manatee County resident claimed the second top prize handout in the game; six now remain. The game’s other prizes range from $10-$100,000.
Odds of winning the price of the ticket back are 1 in 6, according to the Florida Lottery website, while odds of the Bradenton winner’s $2 million draw are 1 in 3,921,270. Overall odds of winning are 1 in 3.12.
Battle chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,645,000, the Florida Lottery said.
The Speedway gas station that sold the ticket will earn a $4,000 commission.
“The Florida Lottery is responsible for contributing more than $43 billion to enhance education and sending more than 950,000 students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program,” the lottery said in its release. “Since 1988, Florida Lottery games have paid more than $85.1 billion in prizes and made more than 3,500 people millionaires.”
This is the second major lottery win for a Manatee County resident this month. Just last week, a Palmetto woman got lucky with a $1 million prize on another Florida Lottery scratch-off game.
