Jeremiah’s Italian Ice to open a second location in the Bradenton area this year
Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, with more than 40 flavors of Italian Ice as well as soft serve ice cream, is coming to Lakewood Ranch.
The sweet treat shop is expected to open in the Braden River Shopping Center, anchored by Publix, at 14529 State Road 70 E. by the end of the year, said Jake Lopez.
Lopez owns the franchise with his wife Lauren, his parents, Steve and Lisa Mountcastle, and Michael Drew, his brother in law.
The real star of Jeremiah’s menu is The Gelati with its alternating layers of Italian ice and creamy soft serve ice cream.
The Mountcastles and Lopezes opened their first Bradenton Jeremiah’s in July 2021 at 2525 Manatee Ave. W. with plans for two more.
Jeremiah’s is known for the seemingly endless possible flavor combinations, and invites suggestions for flavors from its customers.
All of the Italian ices and soft ice creams are made fresh in the store. Jeremiah’s offers free samples every day. Pup cups for dogs are also available at no charge.
The company was founded in 1996 by Jeremy Litwack. There are now franchises in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, Arizona and Nevada.
Jeremiah’s locations are identifiable with their bright colors, green frog logo and the motto “Live life to the coolest.”
The Mountcastle’s son, Ryan, is a first baseman for the Baltimore Orioles who has hit 22 home runs this season.
It was while Ryan Mountcastle and the Baltimore Orioles were in Sarasota for spring training that his family discovered the Bradenton-Sarasota area and saw its potential for Jeremiah’s franchises.
