Sarasota Bradenton airport gets a new restaurant as popular sandwich chain opens

Jimmy John’s celebrated opening its second-ever airport location at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport on Tuesday, the popular sandwich chain said in a press release Tuesday morning.

The new restaurant, located post-security on the second level of the Main Terminal on Concourse B, will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner to all travelers, airport workers and airline officials, the release said.

The new Jimmy John’s in SRQ is owned by multi-franchisee Mark Mitchell.

The sandwich brand is well-known for its fresh bread, all-natural sliced meats and “freaky fast” service.

Jimmy Johns joins Beach Market Cafe, Starbucks Coffee, Kona Bar, Gulf Breeze Cafe and Dunkin’ Donuts as restaurants where passengers can grab a bite to eat after going through security and before takeoff.

”We are pleased to welcome Jimmy John’s to SRQ. This new restaurant will provide our customers another food choice from a reputable brand that provides high-quality sandwiches,” Rick Piccolo President of the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport said in the release.

SRQ provides passengers leaving from the Sarasota and Manatee areas with a total of nine pre- and post-security check dining options.

Piccolo added,“Having the option to grab a quick bite before your flight is another customer service enhancement that we are proud to add to the SRQ experience.”

Jimmy Johns opened it’s first airport location inside McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas in 2020. The sandwich brand has more than 2,600 restaurants in 43 states, according to the release.
