New tenants coming to shopping center by I-75, Moccasin Wallow near brewery, coffee shop
A full-service restaurant and two health care facilities are coming to The Shoppes of Moccasin Wallow, making it a fully leased shopping center.
The new shopping center is on the southwest corner of Interstate 75 and Moccasin Wallow Road.
The name of the restaurant is still “to-be-announced,” developer Primerica Developments, Inc. of Tampa said.
The two health care businesses are BayCare Medical Group and Visage Dermatology.
Other tenants include:
▪ Corporate Ladder Brewing Company, which opened in the shopping center in 2018.
“We were the first business to open at this I-75 exit. We were hopeful we could draw people out here. There is also a ton of new growth coming, and we hoped to grow with it,” owner Blake Kleppe previously told the Bradenton Herald.
▪ TK Grill and Barbeque opened next door to Corporate Ladder in January 2019. Gretta and Jimmey Shelton opened the restaurant after proving their recipes on the road with a food truck. The initials TK come from Traveling Kitchen.
▪ American Honey Creamery & Coffee Co., operated by sisters Mindy and Ali Converse, had an ice cream truck before moving into The Shoppes on March 2, 2021.
BayCare recently announced plans to open Manatee County’s first hospital north of the Manatee River by the end of 2025. The hospital would be catty corner from The Shoppes on the northeast corner of Moccasin Wallow Road and Interstate 75.
A second, yet unidentified hospital is planned on Moccasin Wallow Road to the east at North River Ranch.
The newest tenant to sign a lease, dermatologist Dr. Alexandria Kongsiri, found The Shoppes of Moccasin Wallow after spending time riding horses at boarding stables in Parrish.
“With rapid population growth in the area and very few options for dermatologic care, it seems clear that this is a great place to open another office,” she said.
The two retail buildings at The Shoppes consist of over 19,000 square feet of space.
Also open in The Shoppes are USA Nail Salon & Spa, Mann Orthodontics and Belt Hair Salon (Aveda).
“We are overwhelmed with the support we have been shown,” Belt Air Salon owner Laura Belt said in a press release. “We are so happy to be part of this beautiful community. Truly we are so thankful.”
Belt Hair Salon opened in May.
“With so much growth happening in the Manatee area, we are thrilled with all the new businesses coming to The Shoppes of Moccasin Wallow” Richard Trzcinski, president of Primerica Developments, Inc., said in the press release.
Growing North River area
An estimated 25,000 homes have been permitted for construction, or are seeking approvals in Manatee County’s North River area.
A short walking distance from the Shoppes, Primerica Developments has under construction Gateway Commons Apartments at The Woods of Moccasin Wallow.
The 280-unit community will feature concrete and block construction, a 9,000 square foot clubhouse/amenity center, a dog park, solar carports and EV charging stations and is scheduled to open in the spring of 2023.
There are a few remaining outparcel lots available along Moccasin Wallow Road, at The Woods of Moccasin Wallow.
“With the announcement of BayCare Hospital locating at the same I-75 / Moccasin Wallow Road interchange, this community will only continue to thrive. Our hope is that our projects will provide continued support for the citizens of the Palmetto and Parrish communities by providing a place for local goods and services while creating business opportunities to further strengthen the local economy,” Trzcinski said.
