19-year-old from Parrish dies in motorcycle crash on I-75, Florida troopers say
A 19-year-old died in a crash on Interstate 75 after being thrown from his motorcycle on Friday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The crash happened at 3:20 a.m. in Manatee County.
The 19-year-old from Parrish was traveling south on I-75 on the inside lane approaching Moccasin Wallow Road.
Troopers say he was traveling above the posted speed limit and lost control of his motorcycle, then entered the median.
He hit a guardrail and was thrown from his bike, the release said.
His body came to rest in the grassy median.
Manatee County first responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit continues to investigate the crash.
