Bradenton woman buys a scratch-off lottery ticket and walks away a millionaire

A 39-year-old Bradenton woman became the Florida Lottery’s latest millionaire after scratching off the $1 million prize on a, “The Fastest Road to $1,000,000,” ticket.

The Florida Lottery announced on Tuesday that Haarati Reddy mailed in her winning ticket to the lottery headquarters in Tallahassee and chose to receive one lump sum in the amount of $790,000.

Reddy purchased the winning ticket at Sandra Express Market, 7105 15th Ave. NW, in Bradenton. For selling the winning ticket, the business will receive $2,000.

Though this particular scratch-off game launched in February, Reddy’s winning ticket is the second in the area to be claimed. A 28-year-old Sarasota man claimed an identical prize just two weeks ago after buying the scratch-off ticket at a Walmart in Venice.

Lottery officials say the $30 ticket features a total of 155 top prizes, offering $948 million in cash prizes overall.

Winning tickets must be either mailed in to the Florida Lottery headquarters or dropped in one of the organization’s secured drop boxes. Lottery offices remain closed to the public amid the coronavirus pandemic.
