Missing Wauchula woman who was planning to visit Anna Maria has been found, police say

Mercedes "Sadie" Tyson, 18, was last seen in the 700 block of E. Palmetto St. in Wauchula before she went missing on the Fourth of July, according to the Wauchula Police Department. She reportedly told family members she would join them on a trip to Anna Maria Island before she disappeared.

The 18-year-old Wauchula woman who went missing on the Fourth of July was found Monday afternoon, police said.

The Wauchula Police Department posted on Facebook that Mercedes "Sadie" Tyson was located and returned home. According to the post, there was no indication that her disappearance was linked to any criminal activity.

Tyson's family was reportedly planning a trip to Anna Maria Island before she disappeared.
