Tampa Police release video of bar crashing into building

City police have released a YouTube video in connection with a Tuesday night incident in which a fight occurred and a car crashed into a building.

According to Tampa police, multiple people were involved in a fight on 7th Avenue at 3:30 a.m. after several bars closed.

Police are looking for a person who, after the fight broke out, crashed a black Nissan into the Bad Monkey bar.

The crash caused about $15,000 worth of damage, police said.

The driver left the scene, and the car was impounded.

Surveillance video shows the car near the sidewalk, with the wheels turning slightly against the curb. Moments before, the car had been parked on the north side of 7th Avenue, and had attempted a U-turn.

“A determination has not yet been made regarding whether the suspect intended to strike the victim with the vehicle, or if the suspect unintentionally crashed into the victim and the building while attempting to complete the U-turn,” police said in an email to media outlets.
