Parrish is booming with new housing. Del Webb ready to add to the mix for 55-plus residents
Del Webb, a division of PulteGroup, has broken ground on its second 55-plus active adult community in Manatee County.
The new 950-home community, called Del Webb BayView, is being built on about 500 acres at the intersection of Moccasin Wallow Road and Carter Road, north of Palmetto and west of Parrish.
BayView is located about one mile west of North River Ranch, which is being developed by Neal Land & Neighborhoods for about 6,000 homes.
Manatee County’s first Del Webb community was built south of State Road 70 and east of Lakewood Ranch’s Greenbrook Village.
PulteGroup paid Schroeder-Manatee Ranch $24 million for 643 acres at Lakewood Ranch, making it the largest land buy in Manatee County in 2014.
Del Webb BayView is the latest development announced for the Parrish-North River area, where Manatee County government estimates 25,000 homes have already been approved for construction or are awaiting approvals. Moccasin Wallow Road may eventually be widened from a two-lane country road to to a six-lane highway to accommodate growth.
Del Webb BayView will include an amenity complex with a 20,000-square-foot clubhouse, two pools,, 12 sports courts, a community garden and other amenities.
“Homeowners will enjoy one of the top amenity complexes in the Tampa Bay area,” Sean Strickler, president of the West Florida division of PulteGroup, said in a press release. “Everything was designed with our new homeowners in mind, including outdoor activities, dining and entertainment.”
Also planned are a fitness center, demonstration kitchen, juice-and-coffee bar, aerobics studio, arts and crafts studio, and rooms for socializing. The 3,500-square-foot indoor-outdoor bar and grill will be next door.
The main building will open onto a resort-style pool with lap lanes and a resistance pool for water aerobics. Tennis, pickle ball and bocce courts, plus a dog park, community garden and kayaking area will be adjacent to the clubhouse.
A private amphitheater is planned for BayView with an event lawn to host concerts and other performances, plus a farmers’ market. A full-time lifestyle director and community association director will schedule events and create social activities including clubs, seminars and classes that bring community members together.
Del Webb BayView offers 12 floor plans tailored to homeowners’ personal tastes and needs. Home prices begin in the low $200,000s.
The homes feature open, flowing spaces, wider hallways, available zero-entry showers, and point-of-use storage space. The single-family and low-maintenance villa homes of 1,400 to 3,400 square feet have 2-5 bedrooms, 2-5 bathrooms and 2-to-3-car garages.
Homebuyers can get a first look at Del Webb BayView with an online video of the groundbreaking and property. And they can watch the community come alive on a construction web cam with four views of land development as it happens. Construction of the decorated models is expected to begin in early 2021 with the grand opening expected in July.
