Lakewood Ranch Tour of Homes features more than 70 models

The Lakewood Ranch Tour of Homes kicked off Friday and runs through Nov. 19.

This year there are more than 70 models on the tour, compared to about 50 in 2016, and 30 in 2015.

Now in its 20th year, the tour for the first time includes homes in the Sarasota County portion of Lakewood Ranch in the new Waterside community.

“Although Lakewood Ranch is already a destination and has its doors open year-round for visitors, Tour of Homes provides a unique opportunity to get a taste of what life on The Ranch is really like, Laura Cole, vice president of marketing for LWR Communities, said in an email.

“In addition, we put a spotlight on our 70 plus model homes, provide opportunities to learn about design trends, and this year, offer seminars for first-time, move-up, and move-down buyers. We get excited about tour of homes because it allows us to show off all that is new in this third best-selling community in the nation while sharing what we love about living day-to-day in The Ranch,” Cole said.

“We basically squeeze a year’s worth of events and activities into a one month open house. By way of example, visitors get to experience our trail rides, Main Street block parties, and wine and food festivals,” Cole said.
