Aug. 20 will be a real treat for foodies across the Manatee-Sarasota area.

Be one of the first 100 guests at Edible Elegance by Eli, 3737 Manatee Ave. W., and receive a free gift with any purchase. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the custom designer bakery will host its grand opening celebration. Owner and designer Eli Pavelski opened her cottage food bakery from her home in St. Petersburg five years ago, according to a release. Her work has appeared at the Red Barn Flea Market and the Bradenton Area Riverwalk Regatta.

An hour later in Palmetto’s Sutton Park, there’s a grilled cheese festival that benefits wounded veterans. Yes, that’s right, a grilled cheese festival. The event starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m. Read more about the Manasota Grilled Cheese Festival.

And starting at 5 p.m., you can wind down (or turn up) at JDub’s Brewing Company and Tap Room, 1215 Mango Ave., Sarasota, where they’ll have a food truck rally. Big John’s Texas BBQ, Mother Truckin Good and Yummy Kebab Food Truck are a few names on the roster. Find out more about the rally on the Facebook event page.

If you’re wondering how you’ll make it to all of these delicious events and make enough room for all of the food, I have some advice for you: breathe deep. Believe in yourself. Keep chewing and carry on.
