Grant Jefferies, landscape and nature photographer, has joined AL’s Studio and Art Gallery on Anna Maria Island. Jefferies is a former chief photographer for the Bradenton Herald.

Steve Martin and Karin Grablin of SRQ Wealth Management have been chosen as two of Florida’s Five Star Wealth Managers for 2016 by Five Star Professional and Sarasota Magazine. It’s Martin’s fifth and Grablin’s fourth year in receiving this award.

Gregg A. Baran, M.D., was presented with the Gold Medal Award at the Florida Radiological Society’s annual meeting. The award serves as recognition for outstanding meritorious achievements and contributions that have affected radiology in Florida. Dr. Baran earned his bachelor of science degree in mathematics and chemistry at Vanderbilt University before starting his medical training at the same institution. He served as president of the Florida Radiological Society and as department co-chairman at Tampa General Hospital and is current medical director of radiology at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Dr. Baran is an associate professor of radiology at USF and assistant clinical professor at FSU.

David E. Gurley was recently selected by his peers as among The Best Lawyers in America 2016. It marks his 10th consecutive year to achieve this honor. Gurley is a founding members and president at the Gurley Vitale law firm in Sarasota.

Patricia Healy recently joined Cumberland Advisors as the firm’s senior vice president of research and portfolio manager. Kimberly Douglas joined Cumberland as a compliance officer. Healy was most recently senior director for Bayern LB. Douglas has a 16-year background in the financial industry operations, regulatory compliance, relationship management and human resources.

Jen Earle and Rose Wang have been appointed to the National Women’s Business Council. Earle is CEO of the National Association of Women Business Owners. She has a degree in economics from the University of Notre Dame, is co-owner of Element Music and Sound Design and launched Savvy Ops, a consulting group providing virtual operational support to non-profit organizations. Wang is a serial entrepreneur and is a representative for Women Impacting Public Policy. Wang is founder and executive vice president of strategy and corporate development of the Binary Group and was an engineering team member for Lighthouse Design. She also joined InLine Software and is founder of iBizWomen.com.

Jeffrey Kahane is the new music director for the Sarasota Music Festival. Kahane completes his tenure as music director of The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra at the end of the 2016-2017 season and is currently the artistic director of ChamberFest at the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University. His previous leadership posts include music director of the Colorado Symphony and the Santa Rosa Symphony. Earlier in his career he was a Van Cliburn Competition finalist, first prize winner of the Arthur Rubinstein Competition, and the recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant.

Marie Miante, John Sacket, Maureen Butler and Farren Stevenson are WCI Communities’ top sales performers for June in the company’s Bradenton communities.
