Port Manatee’s 2016 official directory has been selected to receive an award of excellence in the American Association of Port Authorities’ 50th annual communications awards competition.
“We are very pleased to be chosen to receive this prestigious award,” Carlos Buqueras, Port Manatee’s executive director, said in a statement. “It proves Port Manatee is using the right marketing tools to reinforce its value as a major driver of the Manatee County economy.”
The awards were judged by a panel of 48 professional public relations representatives from the Washington area. The panelists judged entries in 15 classifications, including advertisements, periodicals, videos and websites, according to the release.
The award of excellence is the highest of three levels of honors awarded. Port Manatee’s award will be presented Oct. 26 during the association’s annual convention in New Orleans. The American Association of Port Authorities was founded in 1912 and represents 130 seaport authorities in the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.
