Rob Morris continues his tenure as chairman of the board at Goodwill Manasota, with immediate past chairman Steve Boone holding the honorary title of chairman emeritus. Peter Crowley is chairman-elect and Drayton Saunders serves as secretary/treasurer. Rae Dowling, Rod Hollingsworth and Lisl Liang are new to the board and join directors Debbie Douglas, Sandy Kirkpatrick, Alan Maio, Brad West and Richard Wharton. Stu Gregory is a lifetime member.

Mike McCoy is the new market president for Bank of America in Sarasota and Manatee counties. He also will lead the bank’s corporate social responsibility work in the market.

Dr. Steven J. Schafer, orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, Dr. Gennady Gekht and Dr. Douglas L. Constant, both interventional pain management specialists, all at Coastal Orthopedics, have been recognized as Castle Connolly Top Doctors for 2016. Castle Connolly Top Doctors are nominated by their peers in an extensive survey process that encompasses thousands of American doctors each year.

New commodore Janet Amar, vice commodore Jack Gorman and rear commodore Tim Rocklein were sworn in as new officers at the Bradenton Yacht Club. In addition, treasurer Carl Bretko and secretary Kathy Kalitta-Hindman, sail fleet captain John Broshears, power fleet captain Tom Goldman and sport fishing fleet captain Troy Brown are the new officers. Other incoming board members include Cindy Rhategan (communications), Janie Finck (entertainment), Bill Wheeler (house), Bob Enberg (long-range planning), Pat Baker (membership), Tom Grubb (basin) and Jordan Chancey (junior members).

Pat Osburn and Erika Lisch have been appointed to the board of directors at Turning Points. Osburn is president of Boyd Insurance and Investment Services. He has a business degree from Florida State University. Prior to graduation, Osburn was drafted and signed by the Cincinnati Reds where he spent seven years playing professional baseball. Lisch is a certified public accountant with Cavanaugh and Company and is a University of Florida graduate. She received a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Lisch also serves on the executive board of the Junior League of Manatee County.

Christopher Hird has been appointed director of education and principal of the Margaret Barbieri Conservatory at The Sarasota Ballet effective mid-July. Hird previously was artistic manager at the Boston Ballet School and trained at the The Royal Ballet School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in dance from the University of Surrey, Roehampton Institute, and a diploma from the Canada National Ballet School’s Teacher Training Program.

Scott Anderson will join the Jewish Housing Council Foundation as vice president of philanthropy. Anderson served most recently as senior philanthropic adviser with Gulf Coast Community Foundation. He serves as a volunteer for multiple community organizations, has served as senior account executive for Herald-Tribune Media Group and held management positions with GTE.

Rob LaGasse and Kari Osnes were recently hired as pool designers at Waterscapes Pools & Spas. LaGasse worked for his family’s pool company as a teenager and started his own pool cleaning business thereafter. Osnes previously worked as design associate for a licensed interior designer and worked in sales for a high-end remodeled homes company in Naples.
