Manatee Community Federal Credit Union finalist for Wells Fargo grant

Manatee Community Federal Credit Union is a finalist for the Wells Fargo 2016 NEXT Seed Capital Award. It is one of four community development banks competing for a $100,000 grant.

Sherod Halliburton, president of Manatee Community, said the credit union’s new app, CreditConnect Daily, will capture attention. It consolidates many latest financial services technology trends and packages them in an easy to navigate mobile app. It helps consumers to manage finances, including giving daily credit score updates and a variety of credit-building resources and loan products.

The Next Awards are sponsored by the Opportunity Finance in partnership with Wells Fargo, the Kresge Foundation, Prudential and the MacArthur Foundation.

The selection committee will hear finalist presentations July 12 and select an award recipient in July.
