Jim Boyd named ‘champion’ for business by GOP lobby group

Lobbying group Associated Industries of Florida has named state Rep. Jim Boyd, R-Bradenton, one of its “Champions for Business.”

The group gives the annual awards to state lawmakers for efforts to promote Florida’s business environment through leadership and legislation.

This year’s award is Boyd’s third. In a press release, AIF said it gave him the honor for his successful sponsorship of an economic development package.

Other honorees include state Sens. Jack Latvala of Clearwater, Dorothy Hukill of Port Orange, Charlie Dean of Inverness, Aaron Bean of Fernandina Beach, Garrett Richter of Naples, and state Reps. Matt Gaetz of Fort Walton Beach, Matt Caldwell of Lehigh Acres, Frank Artiles of Miami and Ray Rodrigues of Fort Myers,all Republicans.
