Queior resigns as Sarasota Chamber CEO
Steve Queior, CEO and president of the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, is resigning after holding his post for 13 years.
Lisa Krouse, the chair of the chamber’s board of directors, said Queior is leaving the chamber to “rebalance his work life by wrapping up his Chamber career and shifting gears to pursue alternative opportunities in the region.”
Under Queior’s leadership, the Sarasota Chamber launched and implemented Sarasota Tomorrow, a key partner in bringing the Orioles’ spring training and year-round operations to the Sarasota area. The team’s presence generates an estimated $81 million per year in economic impact. Sarasota Tomorrow also supports the development of Nathan Benderson Park’s Suncoast Aquatic and Nature Center and is advancing funding of improvements in downtown Sarasota and for U.S. 301.
Queior has offered to stay in his position through the end of 2016 to smooth the transition as a new president is hired. The Sarasota chamber has about 1,600 member companies.
