Dr. Deborah Sauder joined Intercoastal Medical Group Lakewood Ranch as a family practice physician. Dr. Sauder completed her residency in Family Medicine of Florida Hospital in Orlando and has been a clinical assistant professor at the Sarasota campus of Florida State University Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health since 2008.
David Mulholland is the new audit manager and Angie Oxley is the new audit principal at Shinn and Co. Mulholland is a certified public accountant with a master’s degree in business administration. Oxley was accounting director for the Department of Revenue and Illinois Commerce Commission at the State of Illinois.
Amanda Lunsford is the new office manager at Home Helpers of Bradenton. Lunsford managed office administrations of various companies from one location. She is a volunteer for various community groups.
Jessica Shorin joined Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates Inc. as the new director of business development to help increase public awareness for Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota. Shoring previously worked in the marketing and sales department at Plymouth Harbor, Sarasota. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Maine and has a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Webster University in Sarasota.
Stefanie and Jeremy Overturf, owners of Overturf’s Floor & Fabric Care in Bradenton, recently attended the 20-year Success Mastery Academy in Dallas. The Overturfs joined business owners and entrepreneurs from all over the world to hear Brian Tracy speak on various business topics.
Richard Weintraub, master stylist and co-owner of Yellow Strawberry hair salons in Manatee and Sarasota counties, and the company’s management team, Suzzi O’Donnell, Rhonda Moore and Darlin Stehle, attended the 2to10 Leadership Conference in Chicago. The two-day conference is an invitation-only event for elite multi-location salons and spas, providing attendees key insights and featured best practice presentations from salon performance leaders.
Eva Duerr is the new staff development coordinator and May VanSant is the new admissions coordinator at the Smith Care Center of Plymouth Harbour in Sarasota. Duerr served as resident care coordinator at the Memory Support Center for Evangelical Homes of Michigan, in Saline. She received her associate degree in nursing from the RMK School of Nursing in Backnang, Germany, and is certified as a registered nurse by the Michigan Board of Nursing. VanSant previously worked as the admissions director at Sarasota Point Rehabilitation Center. She hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a minor in child development, from the Florida State University.
Elizabeth Moore has joined Mote Marine Laboratory’s Board of Trustees. Moore serves on Mote’s Education & Outreach Committee and Aquarium Committee and contributes to Southwest Florida communities as board member of various community groups and businesses.
Mark Boehmig, Jedd Heap, Mike Mears and Sue Revell have joined Realize Bradenton’s Board of Directors. Boehmig is a Realtor with Michael Saunders & Co., Heap is a project architect with Fawley Bryant Architects, Mears is vice president of Strategic Initiatives at the State College of Florida, and Revell is the executive director of the Manatee County Bar Association.
Alejandro A. Dominguez is the new director of external affairs, South and Southwest Florida, for AT&T. Dominguez was AT&T’s regional director external affairs Miami-Dade County.
Dustin Fusillo joined the Air & Energy team driving marketing and business development. He previously served as project manager for local start-ups Techne Tennis and Inspiration Academy and was constituent service analyst at the Executive Office of the Governor, Florida.
Eighteen middle and high school students received CEO status on April 28 at the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneurs Academy Commencement. They are: Emmarose Larson of Venice Middle School, Elizabeth Sgro and Gabriella Sgro of Nolan Middle School, and Anna Core of Florida Virtual School, and Fay Baldwin, Benjamin Bogard and Patrick Wheeler of New Gate School, Madison Brillon and Zach Perron of Sarasota Military Academy, Owen Corr of Florida Virtual School, Channing Egrie and Andres Salazar of Riverview High School, Maxfield Hamel and Taylor Pitts of Suncoast Polytechnical, Megan Lepak and Alexandra Mattia of Pine View School, Kyle Stevens of Cardinal Mooney High School, and Todd Weidler of Sarasota High School. The Young Entrepreneurs Academy is a year-long class that transforms middle and high school students into real, confident entrepreneurs. Throughout the class students develop business ideas, write business plans, conduct market research, pitch their plans to a panel of investors, and actually launch and run their own real, legal, fully formed companies and social movements.
