Q: What was the best business advice you ever received?
A: To be clear about the mission of your organization whether for profit or not for profit and have that be the top priority. Also, treating your staff well is critical to business success.
Q: If you could choose another profession, what would it be?
A: Captain of a ship. Because I love being out on the water.
Q: What is the biggest risk you’ve taken in your career?
A: Being a member of state Legislature while being CEO of a rapidly growing business. The key to success was having a strong senior management team that functioned very well.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you start?
A: Many years I traveled from London to Katmandu and it was just a remarkable experience, so I would probably start in India and Nepal and go from there.
