Siesta Key Rum wins five awards in Miami Rum Renaissance Festival

SARASOTA -- Drum Circle Distilling, makers of Siesta Key Rum, won awards in five categories in the Miami Rum Renaissance Festival, billed as the largest rum specific festival and blind taste test competition in the world, the company announced Monday.

Producers from all over the world attended the eighth annual festival over the weekend in Miami to introduce products, meet with importers and distributors, buyers and retailers, as well as consultants on the distillation, packaging and marketing of rum worldwide.

Drum Circle Distilling entered five rums in three categories, and took Best in Class -- first place -- in all three. The other rums also were recognized.

The winners were:

Siesta Key Gold rum - Best in Class

Siesta Key Spiced rum - Best in Class

Siesta Key Toasted Coconut rum - Best in Class

Siesta Key Distiller's Reserve Spiced rum - Gold medal

Siesta Key Beer Barrel Spiced rum - Gold medal
