What was the best business advice you ever received?

My father told me that everybody has a story to tell, and to listen to that story -- and that, for me, applies particularly in the health care industry. And a second advice was to keep excellent notes; there is no such thing as "too many notes" to document events and conflicts.

If you could choose another profession, what would it be?

I am definitely a "carer" by nature, therefore psychology would be my choice, although interior design and graphic arts have interested me, too.

What is the biggest risk you've taken in your career?

Coming to the United States from Ireland when the opportunity presented itself, even though I was happy there as a nurse practitioner in pain management. Plus, my license was not accepted here, so I had to do it over.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you start?

Although I was born and raised in Ireland, there is no world trip for me without a visit to Ireland. But then I would plan to visit the Maldives (in the Indian Ocean), South America and Galapagos Islands (off the coast of Ecuador).
