Ergotech of Connecticut moving headquarters to Manatee
MANATEE -- Ergotech, a Danbury, Conn., company that recently expanded its manufacturing operation into the Parkland Center industrial park near Oneco, is relocating its corporate headquarters to Manatee County.
Starting April 1, the company will operate under the name Ergotronix and will office out of 6408 Parkland Drive. Its production facility is at the same location.
Ergotech produces motorized work positioners that lift, rotate and otherwise manipulate and hold loads of up to 16,000 pounds. It was founded and is headed by Earl Hagman, a Swedish national. He attempted to get permits to build a 20,000-square-foot light industrial plant near Danbury two years ago, but abandoned those plans when local residents objected.
With the move of its front office operation, Ergotech is also moving its two Connecticut production lines to its Parkland Drive facility. They are expected to be operational within the next month.
Ergotech is expanding its workforce in Florida. Vincent Giandurco, an Ergotech spokesman, said the company has yet to determine how many employees it will end up hiring as it completes its move. The company is currently advertising two job openings on its website, ergotronix.com.
