What was the best business advice you ever received?

I am an IRS enrolled agent and a certified planner. When it comes to an investment, don't underestimate the next guy's wallet size.

If you could choose another profession, what would it be?

Teacher of philosophy. What is the biggest risk you've taken in your career?

I bought a four-story building in D.C.and chopped it up into apartments. Shortly afterward, someone put so much money up to construct a block of apartments nearby that my risk became the proverbial golden egg -- but with a big tax bill coming.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you start?

That would be all the countries in Europe.
