Jim Selinski has been named chief development officer for the Van Wezel Foundation. He has 25 years of experience in the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Selinski has a bachelor's degree in mass communications, master's degree and certificate in non-profit management. Selinski is responsible for creating and implementing short- and long-term funding strategies -- major gifts, annual fund, planned giving -- to ensure the long-term future viability of the Van Wezel Foundation. Selinski most recently served as executive director for St. Thomas More Parish, Diocese of Venice. He oversaw the business operations, stewardship, and development initiatives. He was instrumental in helping raise the funds for the construction of the church expansion. The project was fully funded and now complete.

Bethany Carr has joined Kerkering, Barberio & Co., Certified Public Accountants as a tax manager in the Estate and Trust segment. Carr received her bachelor's degree in business administration in accounting from the University of North Florida and is a Florida CPA and Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Amy Pranger has been promoted to bid manager with Florida Fence to address the growing opportunities for large scale projects, including government and corporate bids. Pranger, a licensed civil engineer, has been with Florida Fence for two years beginning as a sales consultant but quickly moving up the ranks. John Cassara brings 25 years of sales expertise to Florida Fence in his new role as sales manager. Cassara relocated to Sarasota 14 years ago from Queens, N.Y.; he is married with a 17-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter. Suzanne Inman has joined Florida Fence to head up the accounting department. Inman has 15 years of bookkeeping experience. Married with one daughter, she is a 30-year Sarasota resident.

Jerry Berkel has joined Keller Williams on the Water in downtown Bradenton.

Rhonda Leiberick of the Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association recently earned professional accreditation in public relations, and received the designation of Accredited in Public Relations. Leiberick is the development and communications manager at Habitat for Humanity Sarasota. She earned her bachelor's degree of fine arts at Ringling College of Art & Design.

James Curran has been named dean of the College of Business at USF Sarasota-Manatee, dropping the title of "interim-dean" conferred on him after former Dean Robert Anderson retired at the end of 2014. Curran received his doctorate and master's business ad

mininstration degree from the University of Rhode Island and a bachelor's degree from Fordham University. He joined USF Sarasota-Manatee as an assistant professor in 2005, teaching marketing. He rose to become an associate professor in 2010. The results of his research have been presented nationally and internationally. As dean, he said he expects to continue reaching out to expand the college's relationship with local businesses. Curran was also named interim dean of the College of Hospitality & Tourism Leadership about a year ago. He will remain in that position until the successful completion of an executive search.
