Developer purchases Trevesta land
PARRISH -- A West Palm Beach real estate investment and development company has purchased 345 acres near Moccasin Wallow Road that are approved for development of a huge residential and commercial subdivision.
The Kolter Group purchased for $5 million the set of five properties on 69th Street E. in Parrish. They border Interstate 75 near the I-275 spur. The seller was a receiver for Freedom Bank, which won a foreclosure judgment against its former owner, a New Jersey development company, in 2012.
According to its website, Kolter Group develops housing subdivisions, hospitality properties and multifamily complexes, and holds a land portfolio.
In January 2015, the Manatee County Board of Commissioners approved a development project on the land expected to bring 1,103 homes to the property. Of those, 803 will be single family detached units, while 300 are planned to be multifamily units.
The development plan also includes 100,000 square feet of neighborhood commercial/retail space.
Halfacre finishes military affairs building
TAMPA -- Lakewood Ranch commercial builder Halfacre Construction Company recently wrapped up the construction of an 8,200-square-foot building for the Florida Department of Military Affairs in Tampa.
The eight-month, $1.92-million project included the construction of a new operations and meeting center with secure and non-secure data lines for the Florida Department of Military Affairs. The design and build for the permanent construction included all utility services, information systems, storm drainage, parking and site improvements. It was also required to meet LEED Silver certification.
Located at MacDill Air Force Base, the operations and meeting center was designed to meet industry standards as well as local, MacDill, state and federal building codes. The design also included a decorative stained glass window.
Halfacre served as the project's construction manager. The building was designed by Bhide & Hall Architects of Orange Park. To date, Halfacre has completed six projects at MacDill.
Motorworks brings home craft brewing medals
BRADENTON -- Motorworks Brewing was given a gold medal for its V Twin Vienna Lager in the Best of Craft Beers awarded by Draft Magazine.
There were more than 3,600 entries in the craft beers contest. Motorwork's also took a silver medal in the Spiced Beer category for its Midnight Espresso Coffee Porter. As a medal-winner, Motorworks will be included in a promotional advertisement in Draft Magazine and will be promoted on the Best of Craft Beer Award's social media outlets, in addition to being granted acceptance into the following year's contest.
