Tarpon Pointe Grill & Tiki Bar to close Feb. 29
Tarpon Pointe restaurant to close
BRADENTON -- The Tarpon Pointe Grill & Tiki Bar, a popular eatery on the Manatee River, will close at the end of February, after its lease was not renewed, the restaurant announced on its Facebook page Sunday.
The landlord, Scott Tibbetts and his partner, City Clerk Carl Callahan, told the restaurant it wasn't successful enough, which restaurant management disputed.
"We have always paid our rent and a percentage of our sales to him on time which has equated to almost $1.1M in 5 years, and our initial investment of over $800K to build Tarpon Pointe," the Facebook post states.
The restaurant, 801 Riverside Drive E. will close Feb. 29.
