Manny Cruz of Cruz Portrait Design in Bradenton has earned the master of photography degree from Professional Photographers of America. The degree means Cruz has met standards of excellence set by PPA. Cruz has been creating awardwinning images in Manatee and Sarasota for more than 25 years.
Tim Self of Insignia Investment Services has ranked in the top 10 advisers for the southeast United States for the third consecutive year. In 2015, Self ranked eighth in total production among 140 advisers in the southeast region, according to LPL Financial. LPL is the nation's largest independent broker/dealer representing more than 13,300 financial advisers and 700 financial institutions nationwide and is utilized for clearing for Insignia Investment Services. Self serves on local boards, including Sertoma Club of Greater Sarasota, Community Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Designing Women Boutique, Women's Resource Center and Suncoast University of Kentucky Alumni Association.
Michael O. Price, CPA, has joined Shinn & Co. as the newest tax senior. As business valuations have taken on a significant role in the firm's practice, Price's technical valuation experience will play a pivotal role in the growth of that department. Bringing more than 12 years of accounting experience to his new role as tax senior, Price's expertise includes, tax research, planning, preparation and review. Price graduated from the University of Tampa with a bachelor's degree in accounting with a minor in finance and then went on to earn a master's degree in accounting. Price is a member of the American Institution of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institution of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.
Midge McCarthy has been selected as a Five Star Real Estate Agent award winner for the 10th consecutive year. Only 40 real estate agents in the Sarasota market are 10-year winners. McCarthy is part of a select group of professionals who excel in client satisfaction, based on a survey of recent homebuyers. Fewer than 7 percent of professionals in the Sarasota area receive this award. McCarthy is a broker-associate in the RE/MAX Platinum Realty downtown Sarasota office.
