Manasota SCORE honored David Chism of Chism Manufacturing as its 2016 Client of the Year. Chism is the first client to receive the award a second time. Chism started his business in 2009 with a $7,500 credit card loan and ended 2015 with more than $1.3 million in sales. Richard "King" Barnard and Bill Coole have mentored Chism as he has grown the business.
Gina White has joined the Realtor Association of Sarasota and Manatee as its marketing and communications manager.
White's responsibility at RASM will focus on the execution of effective marketing and communication strategies to better serve the membership and community. White has a background in public relations and digital marketing. Before joining RASM, she was the communications coordinator for the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, where she coordinated digital marketing projects including email, social media and a blog. A native of Sarasota County, White graduated from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville with a bachelor of science in communication, focusing on public relations.
Paul Montoya, MD, joined the First Physician Group practice at Gulf Gate, 6128 S. Tamiami Trail. Board certified in Family Medicine, Montoya is a native of Phoenix. He came to Sarasota from Nebraska, where he spent the past seven years as a practicing physician with Methodist Health Partners, Methodist Health System, Prairie Fields Family Medicine and Oakland Mercy Hospital.
Megan Landis Dell, whose practice is focused on family law, has joined the law firm of Syprett Meshad. Dell is a member of the Florida Bar, and is admitted to practice before all Florida state courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Prior to joining Syprett Meshad, Dell worked as an associate attorney for a national law firm based in Miami, where she defended insurance companies in a wide array of legal matters. She also practiced maritime law, representing
cruise lines in personal injury and wrongful death cases. Dell received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law in 2010. While attending law school, she interned at the Florida 12th Judicial Circuit Court in Sarasota and clerked for a medical malpractice defense firm in Coral Gables.
Steve Papero, Chief Operating Office of Stonewood Holdings LLC, which operates Stonewood Tavern & Grill and Peach Valley Cafe restaurants, has been promoted to company president.
In addition to his new responsibilities of president, he will keep his duties as COO. Papero has led the recent renovations of several Stonewood locations that feature a new Gastro Tavern concept. Papero has spent much of the past 15 years with Stonewood Holdings LLC.
Patricia A. Bach has joined Carter Psychology Center as a licensed psychologist. Prior to joining Carter Psychology Center, Bach was the director of the University of Central Florida Psychology Clinic. She brings 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy and assessment services to adults of all ages.
Jim Zientara of Raymond James Financial Services Inc. is attending the 2016 Regional Conference Held at the Waldorf Astoria in Orlando.
The conference will provide opportunities to interact with regional and divisional management teams, key home office departments, and education and marketing partners.
