Status Update: Manasota Pediatrics set to open clinic in University Park
UNIVERSITY PARK -- The new year will bring new commercial activity to the northeast corner of Lockwood Ridge Road and University Parkway when a development company headed by a Palmetto pediatrician opens a new clinic and a small block of retail.
Shriyog Corp., a company controlled by Dr. Snehal V. Parikh, will open two new buildings totalling 13,800 square feet at 3315 and 3425 University Pkwy. by late January. The larger of the two, a 7,500-square-foot medical office building set well back from the main road, house an expansion of Parikh's Palmetto Pediatrics practice. To be called Manasota Pediatrics, the office will take on about 1,200 of Parikh's current patients who live in south Manatee County and Sarasota County.
The second building, which has prominent visibility to passing motorists, is expected to house several retail tenants.
The new buildings are just east of a shopping center, a self-storage facility and an Applebees restaurant. To the west is the Country Oaks housing subdivision.
Parikh purchased the property three years ago with plans to expand his growing practice. He said the size of his practice has grown from 700 patients to 7,000.
