Best Western hotel near Interstate 75 in Manatee County sold for $4 million
MANATEE -- In a $4 million deal last week, a Bradenton Best Western hotel near I-75 switched hands.
A Bradenton company, BW Hotels, LLC purchased the 32,000-square foot property at 648 67th St. Circle East from Tampa-based Liberty Bradenton Investments, LLC according to Manatee County records. Liberty Bradenton Investments bought the property in October 2011 in lieu of foreclosure.
Prior to the 2011 sale, the property was sold for $7.2 million in September 2007. The Best Western is in the Traveler's Oasis Subdivision which includes Sunrise Inn, Motel 6, Days Inn, McDonald's, Waffle House and Cracker Barrel.
Hotels are a business on the rise in the area. At a meeting for hotel and other short-term rental accommodations managers in Manatee County at the end of October, executive director of the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau Elliott Falcione said up to 700 more hotel rooms are expected to be built in Manatee County over the next two years.
Currently, a 125-room Hyatt Place is under construction in Lakewood Ranch. A 133-room Homewood Suites behind The Mall at University Town Center began construction this summer and the 37-room Waterline project on Anna Maria Island broke ground in October.
