The Sheridan at Lakewood Ranch is the latest of several recent senior living projects to be built in and around Lakewood Ranch. It is the first project its owner, Senior Lifestyle Corp., has built in Manatee County. Senior Lifestyle owns several Sarasota County locations, including Heron House, Heron East and The Estate at Hyde Park.
Offering both assisted living and memory care units, The Sheridan is being built on 7 acres. Senior Lifestyle purchased the property from Lakewood Ranch master developer Schroeder-Manatee Ranch for $2.5 million in 2014.
The Sheridan will offer studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. It will also have shared, two-bedroom units in its memory-care section.
Amenities at The Sheridan will include a barber and beauty shop, fitness equipment, an art center and a walking path. According to the project's website, resident service offerings will include chef-prepared meals, physical therapy and planned social activities.
The Sheridan will provide care under a limited nursing services license, according to the facility's website. This specialty license allows nursing staff to provide additional assisted living services for their residents.
