NDC Construction Company of Bradenton recently completed construction of a new maintenance building at the Manatee County Southeast Water Reclamation Facility. Put out to bid in 2014, the project consisted of constructing a 14,500-square-foot pre-engineered metal building and associated site improvements. The project is located in East Manatee off of Lena Road adjacent to the Lena Road Landfill Complex. It provides a central facility that houses offices, a water testing lab, support functions, a pump maintenance shop and storage space.

Manatee County operates three water reclamation facilities where it treats sewer water. Some of the water is used for irrigation through the Manatee Agricultural Reuse System. The county has constructed a pipeline connecting the three water treatment facilities, giving it the ability to redirect surplus reclaimed water along the pipeline to areas where water is needed. The county also dries biosolids to create a marketable fertilizer that is sold to farmers. It spent $14 million in 2008 to build the dryer, which operates at the Manatee County Southeast Water Reclamation Facility.
