Steven L. DuToit and Mark Midyett have partnered to create the Midyett-DuToit Property Team at Keller Williams Realty Select in Lakewood Ranch.
Jeffrey S. Goethe, a partner with Barnes, Walker, Goethe, Hoonhout, Perron & Shea, has been recertified by the Florida Bar as a specialist in the area of wills, trusts and estates. Board certified attorneys must apply for recertification every five years and must meet criteria similar to those established for initial certification.
David M. Silberstein, of the Silberstein Law Firm, has been selected as a 2015 Florida Super Lawyer in estate planning and probate. Silberstein has been recognized as a Florida Super Lawyer each year since 2006. Silberstein is Florida Bar board-certified in wills, trusts and estates, and tax law.
Sarasota Memorial's medical staff recently honored two physicians for outstanding service to the hospital and the community, and installed its new leaders for 2015-2016.
Longtime Sarasota cardiovascular surgeon Thomas Kelly, M.D., was presented with the health system's 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award, while neurologist Mauricio Concha, M.D., was named the 2015 Physician of the Year.
Kelly was honored for his pioneering role in the health system's cardiac surgery program.
Concha joined SMH's medical staff in 2001 and quickly established himself as an influential leader who would advance SMH's stroke capabilities. He has served as the medical director of SMH's stroke program since 2003. During that time, he has spearheaded a number of advances in technology and treatments. In 2015, he helped SMH achieve national certification with a Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification from DNV Healthcare, one of the nation's leading accrediting organizations.

Karen Hamad, M.D., Internal Medicine-Pediatrics, was named chief of staff.
Hamad, who practices with Sarasota Memorial's First Physician's Group, has been a member of SMH's medical staff since 2003.
Scott Stevens, M.D., was named chief of staff-elect. Bruce Fleegler, M.D., was named secretary/treasurer, while Ashvin Patel, M.D., and Mark Ramos, M.D., were named medical executive committee members at large.
