EAST MANATEE -- On Monday, Fuzzy's Taco Shop in University Park will offer $1 tacos for dine-in customers.

Except for shrimp fajita and California Heat tacos, guests can enjoy soft or hard tacos for $1.

Located at 2515 University Parkway, the bar is open all day, with 44 tequila varieties and 24 beers on tap.

Seafood Shack donates for cancer research

CORTEZ -- During October, the Seafood Shack Bar and Grill will donate $1 from every melon sangria purchase to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The bar and grill's melon sangria is made with fresh watermelon juice and hints of peach, and pineapple and served over ice in a wine glass for $8, according to a Seafood Shack release.

The restaurant also is encouraging guests to take photos and post them using the hashtag #DrinkPink.

Canning class offered at Geraldson Farm

BRADENTON -- Sunshine Canning will pair with Geraldson Community Farm on Oct. 16 to teach community members how to preserve produce, broth and meat.

According to the Facebook event page, the class will "cover the science behind low acid foods, the equipment necessary to do it at home and where to find safe, tested recipes for all of your farm produce."

Manufacturing job fair at Suncoast Tech College

SARASOTA -- Suncoast Technical College is hosting a job fair next week for those interested in manufacturing positions.

Manufacturers in Manatee and Sarasota counties will come together at the fair to speak with attendees about current job opportunities.

The college's staff will be available to discuss training paths for students and provide tours of the College's Precision and CNC Machining program.

Employers participating include PGT Industries, Tervis Tumbler, Pierce Manufacturing, JRL Ventures, Bealls, Adams Group, Teakdecking Systems and New England Machinery.

Applicants can head to Suncoast Technical College at 4748 Beneva Road in Sarasota from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Hiring event for Bealls distribution center jobs

MANATEE -- Bealls Distribution and CareerSource Suncoast will hold a hiring event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the CareerSource Suncoast Bradenton Career Center, 1112 Manatee Ave. E.

Interviews will be held for jobs in the company's distribution center, including distribution center supervisors with salaries of $40,000 and up per year, processors with hourly wages between $9 and $9.40, and loading and unloading positions with hourly wages between $9.70 and $10.10.

All candidates must register and add a resume to employflorida.com.

The employer will conduct drug screening, reference checks and background checks.

Tickets on sale for Harvest and Harmony festival
