Pier 22 undergoes renovation, enRich Bistro and Ortygia close for owner vacations
MANATEE -- Before Florida's busy tourist season begins, area restaurants are closing for renovations, deep cleaning and owners' vacations.
Bradenton's downtown waterfront restaurant Pier 22 will invest $450,000 in a renovation during the next couple of weeks. Updates include changes to the interior décor and bar, kitchen enhancements, updated furniture and work on the flooring, lighting and air systems.
Pier 22 is taking reservations and special event bookings during the renovation period.
Executive chef Greg Campbell said in a release the updates will "only heighten the experience" for Pier 22 customers.
"The historic nature of the building will be brought to life inside with current colors and motifs that we feel will make the restaurant an even more special place to dine," said Victoria Moore.
Moore's company Moore2 Design LLC developed the interior design for the renovation.
Pier 22 plans to reopen on Sept. 15.
Ortygia, a French-Italian hybrid restaurant in Village of the Arts at 1418 13th St. W., is closed until Oct. 2.
According to Ortygia's website, the crew is "off with Chef to Italy to bring back authentic recipes."

Star Fish Co. at 12306 46th Ave W. in Cortez is closed from Sept. 7 to Sept. 21
Blue Marlin Grill at 121 Bridge St. in Bradenton Beach is closed from Sept. 27 to Oct. 2
Duffy's Tavern at 5808 Marina Drive on Holmes Beach is closed from Sept. 8 to Sept. 29
Euphemia Haye Restaurant & Haye Loft at 5540 Gulf of Mexico Drive on Longboat Key is closed from Sept. 7 to Sept. 30
Harry's Continental Kitchens at 525 St. Judes Drive on Longboat Key is closed through Sept. 30
