Tesla Drops Attractive Cybertruck Lease Offer For June

The TeslaCybertruck is now available to lease at an estimated $949 per month, and for business buyers the math gets even more interesting. Qualifying businesses can claim a Section 179 deduction of up to $31,300 when purchasing a new Cybertruck, thanks to the vehicle's gross weight rating exceeding 6,000 pounds. Whether you're leasing for personal use or evaluating it as a business expense, the Cybertruck's lease program is live in most U.S. states and the terms are worth examining. Here's the full picture.

The Tesla Cybertruck Lease Deal

The estimated monthly payment is $949 for 36 months with $5,000 down. Due at delivery is $6,644, which includes the $5,000 down payment, the $949 first month's payment and a $695 acquisition fee. No security deposit is required. Taxes and fees are excluded and will be confirmed closer to the time of delivery.

Mileage is capped at 10,000 miles per year, with a $0.25 per mile overage charge. That per-mile rate is notably higher than most competitors, which typically charge $0.15 to $0.20. A $395 disposition fee applies if you return the vehicle at lease end. The purchase option at lease end is $54,110 plus applicable taxes, fees and a purchase fee of up to $350. The purchase option may not be available in Iowa, Louisiana or where prohibited by state law. Late payments incur a 5% fee.

The interior follows Tesla's minimalist approach, with a large center touchscreen controlling nearly every vehicle function. Standard equipment includes Autopilot, over-the-air software updates and access to Tesla's Supercharger network. The truck bed features a powered tonneau cover and the integrated vault for secure cargo storage. Towing and payload capabilities are competitive with full-size gas and diesel trucks in the segment.

For business buyers, the Section 179 angle is significant. Qualifying businesses that use the Cybertruck for legitimate business purposes more than 50% of the time can claim a deduction of up to $31,300 on a new purchase. That tax benefit does not apply to leases directly, but it adds context for buyers deciding between leasing and purchasing.

The Bottom Line

This lease fits two distinct buyers: the enthusiast who wants to experience the Cybertruck without committing to a purchase, and the business owner who is evaluating it as a work vehicle with potential tax advantages. At $949 a month the payment is substantial, but it is competitive within the full-size electric truck segment. The $0.25 per mile overage charge is the main caution, as it adds up faster than most lease programs if you exceed the 10,000-mile annual cap. If the Cybertruck has been on your radar and you're in one of the eligible states, the lease terms are now available to run with your own numbers on Tesla's site.
