How to get Leap Day freebies and deals at businesses, restaurants around Bradenton

The FIFA World Cup and U.S. presidential election aren’t the only things happening every four years.

February gets an extra day in 2024 due to it being a leap year, which happens once every four years due to a miscalculation of how many days there are in a year.

The Gregorian calendar, which is the most widely used calendar, estimates there are 365.2425 days in a calendar year. And it makes up for the miscue by adding a day every four years, since there are usually 365 days in a calendar year.

So what does it mean this year?

Well, various businesses are offering customers leap-day deals. Here’s a look at some of those deals around Bradenton on Thursday:

Wendy’s

Need a quick breakfast treat? Wendy’s is offering a free Cinnabon Pull-Apart during breakfast hours on Thursday, while supplies last. Customers are limited to one per vehicle for drive-thru orders or dining room transaction, the fast food chain said in a news release.

Buffalo Wild Wings

The wings restaurant is offering BOGO (buy one, get one) on boneless wings, according to Kiplinger.

Chipotle

Free guacamole for Chipotle Rewards members when using the Extra24 code at checkout on the Chipotle app or website, according to the chain restaurant. Chipotle said in a news release that it is also giving 29 lucky fans free guacamole for a year through its “Extra Day, Extra Codes” challenge on Instagram. Find the details online.

Hungry Howie’s

The leap year special for the pizza chain happens when you purchase one large pizza with one or more toppings at the regular price, a second large one-topping pizza is just 29 cents more, according to the Krazy Coupon Lady.

Jeremiah’s Italian Ice

“J-List rewards members can get small ice and gelatis for just $0.96 on Leap Day 2024,” according to the Krazy Coupon Lady.

Smoothie King

In honor of February getting a 29th day in 2024, Smoothie King Healthy Reward app users can get 29% off a 20-ounce smoothie when $15 or more is spent.

Staples

Wanting to leave the United States for an international vacation in 2024? Staples, an office supply store, has you covered this leap year with a free passport photo given to 29,000 Staples Easy Rewards members, according to Motley Fool. You must activate the offer on the Staples app on Thursday.
