The Sea Hagg, a Cortez landmark for 25 years, has closed. What’s next for the boutique?
After 25 years, The Sea Hagg boutique has closed, sold its real estate and is auctioning hundreds of items of nauticals, antiques and curiosities.
The property buyer and plans for the property at 12304 Cortez Road W. have not been disclosed.
Auction items including the 1991 Mercury Capri convertible with twin mermaid tails that served as a landmark for the Cortez store.
“The Sea Hagg owner, Jan Holman, does have plans for something in the future but those plans have not yet been announced,” Brian Hollifield of Freedom Auctions said.
The inventory is so large that the online auction is being held in two phases.
The first session, now underway, ends at noon Oct. 27 and features larger items, none of which will will be shipped to successful bidders. Bidders will be responsible for picking up their winning items Oct. 28-30, Hollifield said.
Dates for the second phase of the auction have not been announced.
