Anna Maria beachfront estate sells for $16 million, biggest sale ever in Manatee County
A beachfront estate in the city of Anna Maria recently sold for $16 million, making it the largest residential sale in Manatee County history.
The property at 100 Beach Avenue sits on 110 feet of Gulf of Mexico beach frontage. Measuring nearly 7,500-square-feet, it has five bedrooms, five full-bathrooms and one half-bathroom.
Craig Cerreta, managing broker for Premier Sotheby’s International Realty downtown Sarasota office, announced the sale on social media Tuesday.
“This is great for our area and a statement into our future in the luxury market,” Cerrata said.
Lisa Rooks Morris of Premier Sotheby’s International brought the buyer to the table. The listing agent was Charles Buky with Coldwell Banker Realty. The names of the buyer and the seller were not disclosed.
The property went on the market in August with an asking price of $16.5 million.
“The significant sales price demonstrates the strength of the market and the increased demand for waterfront real estate along Florida’s Gulf Coast,” Rooks Morris said in a press release.
Anna Maria Island has seen a trend toward high-end homes replacing beach bungalows at much higher prices.
In 2017, Jason Sato of Sato Real Estate, 519 Pine Ave., Anna Maria, brokered the sale of a 6,483-square-foot beachfront home at 102 Mangrove Ave. for $4.5 million, which was among the highest prices ever paid for a single-family home on Anna Maria Island.
That record selling price has since been eclipsed by other sales, including a single-family home at 805 North Shore Drive, Anna Maria, for $6.8 million, and the property next door at 807 North Shore Drive for $6.75 million.
