Pinot and broccoli? Here are top items ordered on Instacart in Manatee cities in 2021

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, it became even more popular to have groceries delivered.

So as 2021 comes to a close, one of the bigger grocery delivery companies, Instacart, has compiled a list for this year in groceries by city.

Here’s a look at the items Bradenton, Palmetto, Ellenton, Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach, Anna Maria and University Park shopped the most often.

Bradenton top groceries

Bradenton shoppers had green broccoli, prepared sandwiches and wraps, pinot grigio or pinot gris wine, prepared fried chicken and San Marzano tomatoes delivered the most in 2021, Instacart said.

Additionally, cereal bars and energy drinks were food items that rose in popularity for 2021, while leaf lettuce, yeast and all-purpose flour were products that fell in popularity with Instacart’s delivery to Bradenton homes.

And based on orders, the sister city match for the Friendly City in 2021 was Bluffton, South Carolina — they had the same exact most popular delivered items for the year.

Instacart listed how Bradenton compared to the rest of America in ordering Halloween candy, the most popular Thanksgiving foods and more.

Palmetto’s delivery choices

Just north of the Manatee River, Palmetto shoppers had Instacart deliver non-alcoholic beers, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo wine, prosecco and San Marzano tomatoes the most often in 2021.

Prepared deli soups, prepared sandwiches and wraps and yogurt drinks were on the rise for Palmetto shoppers in 2021, while prepared deli salads, steel cut oats and sweet corn were bought less in 2021.

How about the Instacart delivery sister city for Palmetto? It’s Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Other local areas shopping habits

The items that defined Ellenton’s Instacart shoppers were prepared sandwiches and wraps, prepared fried chicken, beef stir-fry meat, sweetie apples and green broccoli.

For Bradenton Beach, it was hard seltzers, light lager, body sunscreen, yellow mustard and ice cubes.

For Holmes Beach, it was the same as Bradenton Beach except swap out ice cubes for coffee filters.

Anna Maria shoppers shared the same list as Bradenton Beach and Holmes Beach shoppers with the exception of ketchup instead of ice cubes or coffee filters.

And in the University Park area, which is right on the Sarasota and Manatee county border, shoppers using Instacart had deli ham, plantains, malanga root, muenster cheese and lactose-free milk delivered the most in 2021.
