Elise Ramer joined Premier Sotheby’s International Realty as its senior director of public relations. Ramer’s public relations career spans more than 15 years with experience including luxury brands, residential and commercial real estate, and consumer products. She will manage the public relations department and oversee the daily public relations activities for Premier Sotheby’s 40 locations and more than 1,000 associates throughout Florida and North Carolina. Ramer is a Class of 2010 graduate of Leadership Sarasota, a past chair of the Sarasota Young Professionals Group and has served on the board for P.A.C.E. in Manatee County.
Kelly Gitt joined the RE/MAX Alliance Group as a broker associate in its Anna Maria Island office. She also is an Associate Broker and team leader with RE/MAX Platinum in Omaha, Nebraska. Gitt has 13 years of experience in real estate sales and investing, and is a new construction expert.
Laura Barshaw, a sales associate with SaraBay Real Estate, earned the National Association of Realtors “At Home with Diversity” certification. The program is designed to present a picture of the changing face of the real estate industry and prepare agents to work effectively with and within today’s increasingly diverse pool of sellers and home buyers.
Chris Fowler and Alexandra (Ally) Salerno Glauser joined Norton, Hammersley, Lopez & Skokos, P.A., a Sarasota-based business and litigation law firm, as associate attorneys. Fowler joined Norton Hammersley as a member of the estate planning, estate administration and asset preservation practice group, and the business and tax law practice group. Glauser joined as a member of the real estate practice group, handling matters concerning real estate as well as business law and corporate transactions.
Gregory DeMeuse joined Bradenton-based law firm Blalock Walters, P.A., with a focus in real estate, land use and local government law. His real estate practice focuses on commercial and residential transactions, commercial leasing and residential real estate. In local government and land use law, DeMeuse serves as counsel to a wide variety of local government entities, including municipal, school district, community development district and interlocal government. He also represents private clients in all aspects of the permitting and development process.
Charles Bartlett, Michael Furen, Thomas Icard Jr., Robert Lyons, William Merrill III and Jaime Wallace, attorneys with Icard, Merrill, Cullis, Timm, Furen & Ginsburg, P.A., were included in the 2018 edition of “The Best Lawyers in America” in 13 categories. Also, Bartlett, Icard and Merrill received Lawyer of the Year awards from the publication. The firm has offices in Manatee and Sarasota counties.
Nine lawyers from the Manatee-Sarasota region were among 255 statewide who earned Florida Bar Board Certification, a designation that places them among the only group of Florida lawyers who may use the term BCS for Board Certified Specialist when referring to their legal credentials.
