Names and faces in Manatee and Sarasota counties
Sarah Wertheimer was chosen as a member of Leadership Florida Connect Class VIII. Wertheimer is associate executive director of Embracing Our Differences. She previously served as director of development for The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee and currently serves as the chair of the diversity and inclusion committee of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Wertheimer holds dual degrees in philosophy and Spanish from the University of Central Florida.
Britney Guertin was named director of public relations and social media, Heidi Cook was named director of operations, and Tammy Dumer was named director of finance at Grapvine Communications. Guertin previously served as as public relations and social media associate. She holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Florida. Cook was the company’s special projects and events manager, while Dumer was the company’s bookkeeper.
Charles J. Bartlett, Thomas F. Icard Jr., Robert G. Lyons, William W. Merrill III, Alyssa M. Nohren, W. Andrew Clayton Jr., Jaime L. Wallace, F. Thomas Hopkins III and G. Matthew Brockway were selected for inclusion in the 2017 edition of Florida Super Lawyers. All are attorneys with Icard, Merrill, Cullis, Timm, Furen & Ginsburg in Sarasota.
Jack Mooney and Sandy Mooney have joined Re/Max Alliance Group as real estate agents. Both previously worked with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate and both have a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management in Minneapolis.
Dan Jasmer joined Re/Max Alliance Group in Sarasota as a realtor. Prior to his career in real estate, Jasmer was a product manager for a physician practice management firm. Jasmer is a certified luxury home marketing specialist and a member of the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing Million Dollar Guild. He earned a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
Bruce Folkins, wine director at Pier 22, and the restaurant Pier 22 were honored for its outstanding wine program in Wine Spectator’s 2017 Restaurant Award. The Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants around the globe whose wine lists feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.
Cindy-Ann Hersom and C. Garrett Moore are new board members of The Southwest Chapter of the American Red Cross in Sarasota. Hersom leads a socio-environmental marketing communications consultancy, Ubuntu Effect. Moore is owner of Moore Financial Management Inc. He holds a degree in finance and management from Northwood University.
