Gas prices continue to plummet across the Bradenton-Sarasota area as well as Florida, with Monday marking the 30th consecutive day of falling costs.

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the two-county region was $2.09, down 7 cents in the past week and 27 cents in the past month, according to AAA’s daily fuel tracker.

The statewide average was $2.15, below the nationwide average of $2.23.

According to Gasbuddy’s daily survey of more than 300 outlets in the region, Manatee County stations were averaging $2.05 per gallon Monday, with Sarasota County at $2.11. Nearby, Pinellas County stations were at $2.01, with Hillsborough County at $2.04.

Many analysts project prices might soon bottom out, but “the summer driving season could still end up being the lowest overall average since 2005,” Gasbuddy’s Dan McTeague said.
