Single Stream Recyclers expands into Sarasota County
Single Stream Recyclers will expand into Sarasota County and bring an estimated 80 jobs to the area by 2018, the Economic Development Corp. of Sarasota County announced Thursday.
Single Stream Recyclers is a private company with a facility in Cocoa, Fla., that sorts, bales and ships paper, cardboard, aluminum, plastics, metal, glass and other recyclables from residential curbside and commercial recycling collection, according to the EDC release.
The Single Stream Recyclers facility in Sarasota County will be located at 3901 N. Orange Ave. in the greater Newtown area. It will be just under 100,000 square feet, according to the release.
“Single Stream Recyclers is an excellent addition to our business community while also a benefit to the local environment,” said Sarasota County Commission Chairman Paul Caragiulo. “We were glad to assist them with our fast-track permitting process.”
