Tidewell, Suncoast hospices announce alliance

Tidewell Hospice and its parent organization, Stratum Health System, and Suncoast Hospice and its parent organization, Empath Health, are founding partners of a strategic alliance to be known as Pontus Health Inc.

Tidewell serves residents in Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, and DeSoto counties, and Suncoast provides services in Pinellas County.

The alliance allows Tidewell to share best practices, purchasing efficiencies, and expand its role in end-of-life care. Additional future collaborations between the two companies are anticipated. Other end-of-life organizations may join the partnership in the future.

Tidewell’s daily operation will not be changed by the alliance.
