Spa, clothing store potential new tenants at Mall at UTC

The permits are still under review, but if all goes according to plan, Ultimate Relaxation spa and Jetson’s Clothing will become tenants at The Mall at University Town Center.

Paul He, owner of the Ultimate Relaxation location in Brandon, said he’s hoping for a Nov. 1 opening in a spot on the second floor of the Mall at UTC near Dillard’s.

Ultimate Relaxation, which filed for a business use permit this week, is a massage therapy spa offering foot massage, table massage and chair massage services. Reflexology and all types of massage are beneficial for circulation, organ health and lowering blood pressure, He said.

Ultimate Relaxation also will offer ashiatsu, a form of massage in which a therapist holds on to bars mounted on the ceiling and walks on a customer’s back.

“A lot of customers find that helpful to release tension from the inner body and to release stress,” He said.

He also said he sold the other two Ultimate Relaxation spas in the Westfield Sarasota Square mall and in Naples.

Jetson’s Clothing also filed for a business use permit this week. Alan Jones, a representative for Jetson’s, described the men’s and children’s clothing store as “where street wear meets luxury.”

Jetson’s Clothing has stores in Largo and New York.

Jones said he’s hoping for a Nov. 15 opening, which would begin a one-year lease for Jetson’s.

“We will 100 percent be open for the holiday season,” Jones said. “We’ll start out with a year lease and see. But we’re definitely going to be in Sarasota somewhere whether we move out of that mall. We would like to stay long term (in the mall) but we want to be part of that area no matter what.”

Jetson’s and Universal Relaxation join Fabletics, Capital Teas, Refinery and Tricho Salon in opening Mall at UTC locations in 2016.

Seven stores have closed since the Mall at UTC opened in October 2014.
